On October 14 and 15, the VVBAD’s centennial celebration took place at the Kursaal in Ostend. ekz benelux was in attendance.
With a recreated OpenBIB (OpenLibrary) solution, our booth attracted a lot of attention.
In addition to the OpenBIB solution, visitors could learn about the new SelfCheck Plus D, a desktop model where self-service and a payment solution are combined in one piece of equipment. The visitor counter (with live registration of visitors) and the intelligent shelves were also part of the exhibition stand. It was good to be able to greet customers en masse live and in person again after such a long time.
With over 1,200 visitors over 2 days, the organization was very satisfied.
"Digital Inclusion & Education in Libraries" - Johannes Neuer
In addition to demonstrating the solutions, ekz benelux also hosted a well-attended lecture.
Johannes Neuer, librarian director of ekz bibliotheksservice, delivered a lecture titled “Digital Inclusion & Education in Libraries.”
From his experience as Director of Customer Experience at New York Public Library, he was able to captivate his audience with numerous examples of inclusion and education for the New Yorker in the NYPL. Think of lending Wifi hotspots to underprivileged residents or lending to visitors who had attended job interviewing training.
Over 200 interested people attended this session, which was a wonderful turnout.
